Why Renovate?

by Barbara on June 17, 2010

This entry is part 3 of 6 in the series My Renovation

We have owned our home for 11 years.  We bought it because it was in an amazing area to bring up children, it had a bit of property (for the city it was great)  and had a finished basement!

With room for a studio!!!!

I jumped up and down when I saw the 12 X  18 ft room just for me!!!!!  We plunked in a sink and I have been painting there ever since!  ( there is a lock on the door – alas it is not sound proof so I still hear the kids yelling at one another..)

I have larger spaces that can be rented when the job requires it but we work on site 95% of the time.  So, for me renting a studio space isn’t economical.  Besides when one more coat on something is necessary – popping down a midnight is easier when you can do it in you p.j’s!

We have wanted to renovate the kitchen since we moved in.  It was designed with one cook in mind and as my family grows we all want our own space to spice, bake, roll and skewer.  This is not the space!

this is!

But as all things progressed this “Kitchen Renovation” turned into “main floor, dining room, living room, stairs and upstairs hall” renovation.

OUR GOAL!

Start on 14th – end before birthday August 13th.

Husband to Portugal on 14th…

Breathe………

Will be following your progress and cheering you on with this creative project as you move your idea into form! My husband, Dan, recommends those soft, squishy earplugs you can buy in the drugstore – LOL!
